In 2006 Race for Life brought together 750,000 women to raise a staggering £46 million for Cancer Research UK. This is Harrisons Business Director, June Robinson's fifth year of entering the race and she freely admits that it is more of a power walk for her and not a race!

"The camaraderie and spirit of the occasion is brilliant amongst participants and those who take the time to come along and cheer their relative or friend across the finish line. Every penny raised really does make a difference."

This year there were 230 women-only 5km races across the country, bringing women together to raise money and help cure cancer faster.

Since Race for Life began in 1994, a million women across the country have raised over £100 million for Cancer Research UK.
