Can I get that Super Size?

15th October 2020

Have you ever seen the film Honey I Shrunk The Kids?

In the film the whacky scientist Dad accidentally shrinks his children down to microscopic size with a machine he’s created. The children then live in a world where everything is ten times the size of them – the grass, insects, food etc.

Why do we tell you all this? Well, it’s a bit like that in the Harrisons Signs workshop sometimes!

Our talented signmakers love a challenge and as part of our overall retail display and point of sale offer we are often tasked by our clients to produce ‘super size’ products and objects.

We’ve produced extra large chocolate bars, laundry detergent, and even manufactured one of the props used in the 2005 Jonny Depp film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

So how do we do it?

Our expert team starts with the real-life object at normal size, scaling up the dimensions to achieve the desired finished size – a 2-metre tall packet of Rolos for example! We then look at the materials required to create the desired look, feel and texture before manufacturing and assembling the finished item.

These extra-large objects can be a fantastic way to grab your customer’s attention and capture their imagination in-store, making sure there is no chance for them to overlook your product!
