As part of a £110 million investment at their Tutbury factory, Nestle created a living wall that attractively screens the site with thousands of growing plants.

Floating feature signage was constructed consisting of built up letters and the brands instantly recognisable birds nest logo in mirror polished stainless steel. The brief required all the lettering to float on the living wall without no visible fixings! This requirement provided the biggest challenge on this project – Secure the heavy built up lettering to a wall built with plants!

The answer was 32 separate fixing arms secured to the structures internal frame work, stood off approx 100mm from the wall to allow for plant maintenance. Because of the rigorous planning, the installation was incredibly straight forward and was undertaken by Harrisons fitting crew in two phases over a three week period.

We’re extremely proud to say this wonderful piece of craftsmanship accredited us with the BSGA Architectural Sign of the year 2014.
